In the heart of the nation's capital, Shōtō restaurant, a new addition to U.K. restaurateur Arjun Waney's portfolio, has unveiled an impressive audio system designed to elevate the dining experience for its patrons.

According to managing partner Arman Naqi, the goal for Shōtō's audio system was to be the best sounding restaurant in DC. The system was chosen to deliver full, musical sound that doesn't overpower conversations, making it a perfect fit for the contemporary take on traditional Japanese casual dining that Shōtō offers.

The system at Shōtō comprises of DAS Audio Quantum Series Q-23-T systems, known for their compact look and short-throw design, making them ideal for the restaurant's unique dimensions. The main dining area is equipped with 27 Q-23-T two-way full-range systems, while the installation also includes 20 DECO-6-TB two-way in-ceiling speakers and 8 Q-10 ultracompact 10-inch subwoofers.

The audio system design for Shōtō was determined in collaboration with the integrator, 305AV, with support from DAS Audio's applications engineering team. John Fiorito, DAS Audio's hospitality and nightclub national sales manager, oversaw the system design and commissioning.

The system is designed to meet the unique acoustic challenges presented by the restaurant's dimensions, ensuring a great experience for all diners, regardless of their seating location. It is also designed to cater to live DJs three nights a week, further enhancing the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere.
