Agribusiness Giants Reshape Structures for Growth: Corteva, Kraft Heinz, FBN Split and Launch New Initiatives
Agribusiness giants are reshaping their structures to drive growth and value. Corteva, Kraft Heinz, and Farmers Business Network (FBN) have all announced significant splits and new initiatives.
Corteva, following the trend, will divide its seed and pesticide businesses into two separately listed companies. This move aims to sharpen focus and create long-term value.
FBN, a leading digital platform for farmers, has also been active. It raised $50 million to develop new AI-centric tools for customers. The company plans to expand its digital marketplace, offering financial services, digital tools, and access to inputs and supplies.
FBN has spun off its global crop solutions business into a separate entity, Global Crop Solutions (GCS). Additionally, FBN has spun off its data and analytics division into an independent entity named 'FBAnalytics'. GCS will launch as an independent supplier of crop protection products and become a preferred supplier on the FBN store. This split allows FBN to focus on its core digital marketplace and enables GCS to sell products to other ag retailers.
FBN's e-commerce marketplace currently serves over 117,000 farms and offers more than 7,000 products across crop inputs, livestock supplies, and seeds.
These strategic moves by Corteva, Kraft Heinz, and FBN reflect a trend towards specialization and focus in the agribusiness sector. By dividing their businesses, these companies aim to unlock shareholder value, drive growth, and better serve their customers.
