Anthropic's Claude Revolutionizes File Management
Anthropic's AI model, Claude, is set to revolutionise file management. The new tools allow users to convert files between formats with a single command. The feature is currently available to Max, Team, and Enterprise plan users, with a rollout to Pro users over the next few weeks.
To access the new feature, users need to opt-in by navigating to Settings, finding the experimental section under Features, and selecting 'Upgraded file creation and analysis'. The tool aims to eliminate the chore of formatting and reformatting media like spreadsheets and slides.
Meanwhile, Claude is expanding its capabilities. Soon, users will be able to create and edit Excel spreadsheets, documents, PowerPoint slides, and PDFs using written prompts. However, it's important to note that Claude requires internet access to create or edit personal files, which may pose data risk concerns.
In other news, Oracle and OpenAI have signed a $300 billion cloud computing deal. This investment will power AI with 4.5 gigawatts of energy over the next five years. As for Claude, the new features, including advanced coding and context editing capabilities, are currently available mostly to users with Claude Max, Team, or Enterprise subscriptions. Broader releases are planned for the future.
