Apple's Vision Pro 2: Next-Gen AR/VR Headset Coming Post-2025

Apple's AR/VR headset, the Vision Pro, launched in early 2024. Now, the tech giant is gearing up for the next generation, the Vision Pro 2. While no official release date has been set, speculation points to a post-2025 launch.

The Apple Vision Pro 2 is expected to be a significant upgrade from its predecessor. It will feature the current M4 chipset, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, and is rumored to be powered by the upcoming M5 chipset, as reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This upgrade will likely bring improved performance and AI task capabilities, with Apple increasing the neural engine cores.

To enhance user comfort, Apple is developing a new headstrap for the Vision Pro 2. This is aimed at reducing neck strain and head pain, a common issue with prolonged use of VR headsets. The device is expected to be released by Spring 2026, according to sources.

The Apple Vision Pro 2 is set to be a major improvement over the current model, with enhanced performance and comfort. Despite the high price of the original Vision Pro, which has led to a decline in sales, Apple plans to release a cheaper, lighter AR/VR headset after the Vision Pro 2, targeted for 2027 or later.
