Modernizing the Kazakh Police: Thousands of Chats with the Public

In a shift towards modern communication, Kazakhstan's local police are now maintaining connections with the public via an impressive 7,500 chats, according to Minister of Internal Affairs, Yerlan Turguumbaev. This revelation was shared at a public meeting, as reported by "Kazinform."

"Joining the digital age, our local police now engage in 7,500 chats with KSK, OSI, and active residents. Officers are present and active on social media, and they can be found in apartment buildings, elevators, and public spaces, where they post photos and share contact details, including local police station addresses," Turguumbaev explained.

This move towards constant contact with the public allows the police to monitor their areas closely and swiftly respond to any violations. Turguumbaev also emphasized that the protection of children's rights holds top priority, as they are the most vulnerable part of our society.

Previously reported was the extensive use of video surveillance systems to maintain order. Boasting 417,000 cameras installed on streets, at intersections, residential building entrances, commercial objects, and entertainment venues, over 104,000 of these cameras transmit images to operational management centers.

Expanding on this digital communication trend, it's interesting to note that officers from Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, have participated in international training programs to combat illicit trafficking, suggesting a move towards global collaboration to improve capabilities and public communication.

It's plausible that the Kazakh police may also be enhancing their public communication by developing digital platforms for interaction, engaging on social media, and participating in international forums to learn from best practices in the field. For instance, many law enforcement agencies worldwide have adopted online platforms for reporting crimes, as well as digitalization of services, showcasing a growing trend towards technology-enabled communication in the public security sector.

As we look forward to the future, it's exciting to see how Kazakhstan's police force will further modernize their approach to public communication, fostering stronger connections and ensuring the welfare of the people they serve.
