Auxy, the company behind the app, has been making waves in the music industry with their innovative approach to music creation. Originally launched in 2014 as a music-making app for iOS, Auxy Studio offers a simple, uncluttered interface for quick and intuitive sequencing.
In January 2025, Auxy announced that they were developing a hardware product, but the form of the device remains a mystery. An image shared by the company shows an off-white corner with a wooden end-cheek and the Auxy logo, suggesting it may be a keyboard with Auxy's sound library.
The company's goal for the hardware product is to create a playable instrument that inspires creativity, following the same philosophy as their apps. Auxy Max, the desktop version of Auxy Studio, was also launched in January 2025 and is now available for download on macOS.
A free version of Auxy Max is available, but a paid-for tier at $59.99 provides more instruments per project. Compatibility for Auxy Max requires macOS 13.5 or later.
Auxy has announced that they will share more information about the hardware product soon. The launch of this exciting new product is still scheduled for later this fall.
