Avrupa Minerals Expands Finland VMS Footprint, Secures KKS Area
Avrupa Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: AVU) has expanded its exploration footprint in the Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi VMS District of Finland by securing a new exploration area reservation, KKS, totalling 18.6 km². This move comes as Avrupa seeks a joint venture partner for its VMS program, with plans to attend the FEM2025 Conference in Levi, Finland.
The KKS area, covering three historic VMS prospects - Kurpas, Kaskela, and Sirviö - has shown promising results in the past. Best drilling results include intercepts of 1.0m at 2.4% Cu and 1.5m at 8.8% Zn at Kaskela, and 1.0m at 2.4% Cu at Kurpas. Despite these encouraging findings, the deeper parts of the area remain unexplored since 2005. Avrupa plans to use advanced geophysical tools like airborne deep-EM and detailed magnetics to delve deeper into the area's potential in Finland.
Avrupa's President and CEO, Paul W. Kuhn, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that it expands the company's VMS portfolio in the District to seven licenses. The company, a growth-oriented junior exploration and development firm, is focused on discovering mineral deposits in Europe. Boliden and BEGeos are collaborating with Avrupa in the development and geophysical exploration of the VMS district, respectively.
Avrupa Minerals' expansion into the KKS area, coupled with its plans to employ advanced geophysical tools, signals a significant step in the company's exploration efforts in the Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi VMS District of Finland. With a portfolio of seven copper-zinc exploration permits and one gold exploration permit, Avrupa continues to demonstrate its commitment to the region. The company's attendance at the FEM2025 Conference in Levi, Finland, further underscores its intent to seek partnerships and advance its exploration programs in Finland.
