Baojun KiWi EV's Strong Debut: 3,000+ Orders in a Week
SAIC-GM-Wuling's Baojun Kiwi EV has sparked significant interest, receiving over 3,000 orders within a week of its pre-sale launch. Powered by a 40kW electric motor and a 31.9kWh battery, the Kiwi EV offers an NEDC range of 305km. It supports DC fast charging, taking just an hour to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent.
The Kiwi EV is designed to appeal to young urban women, with themed delivery scenarios tailored to their preferences. Nio's founder, William Li, sees the Kiwi EV as a potential second car for Nio owners, given its smart, original, technological, and futuristic features. These include a 220V on-board power pick-up function, electronic stability control, hill-hold control, and automatic parking. The Kiwi EV is priced at RMB 69,800 for the base model and RMB 78,800 for the premium version, approximately double the price of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV.
With its impressive features and targeted marketing, the Baojun Kiwi EV has made a strong market debut. Its quick charging capability and attractive pricing position it well in the competitive electric vehicle market.
