Bonprix CEO Torben Hansen to Depart, Nicolai Johannsen Named Successor
Torben Hansen, the CEO of Bonprix, will depart on October 31, due to strategic differences. Nicolai Johannsen, currently vice president of consumer interactions, will take over as chief marketing officer from November 1, 2023, and later become one of four managing directors.
Hansen's responsibilities, including brand and content, digital marketing, European sales management, and people and organisation departments, will be shared by Carolin Klar, Matthias Wlaka, and Kai Heck until his departure. Johannsen, who has been with the Otto Group since 2011, has held various roles, such as vice president of sales and vice president of consumer interactions. He has shown expertise in reorganising sales divisions, expanding digital channels, and developing customer loyalty programs. Marcus Ackermann, Otto Group executive board member, expressed confidence in Johannsen's ability to lead Bonprix successfully. From January 2026, the Bonprix Group will be managed equally by all four managing directors.

Nicolai Johannsen's appointment as chief marketing officer from November 1, 2023, and later as one of four managing directors, signals a new era for the company. The remaining board members will share Hansen's responsibilities until then.
