Breitling Partners with Soccer Sensation Erling Haaland on a Restricted Watch Line-up

In a unique collaboration, luxury watchmaker Breitling and renowned footballer Erling Haaland have launched the Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat watch collection. This collection showcases Breitling's return to mechanical chronographs and features meteorite dials, a first for the brand.

The collection includes two models: the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland and the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland.

The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland is crafted from stainless steel with a platinum bezel, measuring 40mm in diameter and 11.8mm in thickness. Limited to 500 pieces, it boasts a unique Widmanstätten pattern on its meteorite dial, derived from the Muonionalusta meteorite, one of the oldest materials on Earth, estimated to be over 4.5 billion years old. The watch is priced at approximately $10,000 on a rubber strap or $10,350 on a steel rouleaux bracelet.

The Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland, on the other hand, is made from 18K red gold, measuring 42mm in diameter and 15.1mm in thickness. Limited to 250 pieces, it too features a meteorite dial and is priced at approximately £39,700 on a red gold rouleaux bracelet or £21,900 on a black rouleaux-esque rubber strap.

Both models are equipped with Breitling's renowned movements. The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 uses the Breitling Caliber 32 (GMT 40), while the Chronomat B01 42 employs the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. Both movements offer a power reserve of approximately 42 hours (for the GMT 40) and 70 hours (for the B01 42), respectively, and a self-winding mechanical winding system.

The watches are personalized with "EH" on the central seconds hand (for the chronograph) in place of the traditional Breitling "B" logo. The Chronomat B01 42 also features a sapphire crystal caseback, showcasing the movement's mechanical components, and unique editions for Haaland include bespoke engravings.

The ultra-exclusive "One of 5" model watch, made from 18-karat red gold and featuring a transparent caseback, is limited to just 5 pieces, intended for Haaland's closest friends. This model showcases the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 and has a bespoke engraving of the athlete's name, jersey number, and signature post-goal pose.

Manchester City soccer player Erling Haaland has partnered with Breitling to create these limited-edition timepieces. Georges Kern, Breitling CEO, stated that the meteorite dial was the perfect fit for Erling Haaland, as he plays like he's from another planet. The Chronomat watch, originally designed to be powerful and singular, reflects Haaland's persona perfectly.

The Chronomat watch, first introduced in 1983, was designed with inspiration from a timepiece made for the Frecce Tricolori, an Italian aerials quadron. Each meteorite dial piece in the collection is unique due to the Widmanstätten pattern, making each watch a unique piece of cosmic history.

  1. The collaboration between luxury watchmaker Breitling and renowned footballer Erling Haaland extended beyond sports, entering the realms of science, space-and-astronomy, as the collection features meteorite dials, a first for the brand.
  2. The fashion-and-beauty industry also acknowledged this unique collection, with the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland model priced at roughly £39,700 on a red gold rouleaux bracelet, a testament to its luxury status.
  3. Meanwhile, the sports world witnessed another milestone as technology played a significant role in the creation of these watches, with both models equipped with Breitling's renowned movements, offering a power reserve of up to 70 hours (for the B01 42).
