BYD Denza introduces the 2025 N7 SUV, featuring an advanced smart driving system upgrade.
The Chinese premium automaker BYD has unveiled the refreshed Denza N7 SUV, marking a significant step forward in its vehicle intelligence strategy. The 2025 Denza N7, a competitor to the Tesla Model Y, comes with a host of improvements, including a more streamlined design, unified smart driving system, and new variants.
The updated Denza N7 comes standard with the God's Eye B smart driving system, also known as DiPilot 300, which includes two LiDARs. This system is an upgrade from the entry-level DiPilot 100 system used in the previously on-sale 2024 Denza N7.
The Denza N7, a battery electric vehicle (BEV) SUV model, delivers impressive performance. The highest-priced variant of the 2025 model boasts an additional front motor with 160 kW of peak power and 310 Nm of peak torque. This variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, making it one of the quickest SUVs in its class. The two lower-priced variants are single-motor rear-drive models with 230 kW of peak power and 360 Nm of peak torque, capable of reaching 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
The 2025 Denza N7 offers three variants, starting prices ranging from RMB 259,800 to RMB 289,800. All variants come equipped with a BYD blade battery pack based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry with a capacity of 91.3 kWh. This battery pack supports simultaneous charging with two charging guns and can provide a range of 350 km in as little as 15 minutes of charging.
The Denza N7 also features BYD's DiSus intelligent body control system. The two lower-priced variants get the DiSus-C, while the highest-priced variant gets the DiSus-A that uses air suspension.
The more streamlined version options and unified smart driving system of the 2025 Denza N7 are expected to reduce potential confusion for consumers. The updated model is slightly shorter and more compact than its predecessor, with the highest-priced variant being 1,602 mm high, compared to 1,620 mm for the two lower-priced variants. The length, width, and wheelbase remain consistent across all variants.
BYD unveiled its vehicle intelligence strategy on February 10, dividing its smart driving system into three branches: God's Eye A, God's Eye B, and God's Eye C. The God's Eye B system, which powers the Denza N7, uses one or two LiDARs and will be mainly used in Denza and some BYD premium cars.
The Denza N7, launched on July 3, 2023, has seen lukewarm sales so far. However, the refreshed model with its advanced technology and new features is expected to attract more customers. Denza aims to sell over 300,000 cars in 2025, according to a report.
