Vauxhall Unveils Electric Concept Vehicle Inspired by Opel Manta 400 for IAA Mobility 2025

British automaker Vauxhall is set to unveil a new battery-electric concept vehicle at the IAA Mobility 2025 auto show in Munich. The upcoming EV, inspired by the iconic Opel Manta 400 Group B rally car of the 1980s, promises to be a powerful and visually striking showcase of the brand's electrified and motorsport-rooted future.

The concept vehicle boasts a sleek design with a focus on aerodynamics, featuring truncated triangular elements in the wheel design and extreme fender flares. The vehicle's front is adorned with aggressive air intakes, while the rear sports a large roof spoiler, rear diffuser, and aerodynamic alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin is driver-focused, with a slim racing steering wheel inspired by Formula 1 or Tesla yoke designs, lightweight bucket seats, and a roll cage for safety and engagement. The interior also features a large head-up display presenting essential information in iridescent colours directly in the driver’s line of sight.

The concept vehicle is rumoured to feature an advanced battery-electric setup, incorporating dual electric motors for all-wheel drive, with a system output of around 588 kW (about 800 hp). This is said to enable a 0-to-100 kph sprint in approximately 2 seconds and a top speed near 320 kph. However, no specifications about the performance or range of the concept vehicle have been released yet.

The new vehicle will wear the GSE performance moniker, a label used for models that are tuned for performance. Vauxhall has hinted that some aspects, including the new interpretation of its Compass lighting motif and performance technologies, could influence future production models in the GSe lineup.

Teaser images of the new concept vehicle have been released, showcasing its illuminated name badge. The vehicle will be unveiled in full at IAA Mobility 2025, where it is expected to make a significant impact in the EV market.

Until then, the world eagerly awaits more details about this exciting new development from Vauxhall.
