Competitor Hisense takes the lead in the RGB-MiniLED television market with two massive models, hinting at an even larger project on the horizon

Hisense, a leading electronics manufacturer, has unveiled two new RGB-MiniLED TVs – the 116UX and the 100UX. These TVs boast advanced backlighting technology, offering exceptional brightness, precise color control, and wider color gamut coverage.

Advanced Backlighting Technology

Unlike traditional Mini-LEDs that use white light, the 116UX and 100UX models employ red, green, and blue LEDs. This innovation results in improved color fidelity, reduced blooming effects (unwanted light halos around bright objects), and better color control.

Exceptional Brightness

The 116UX TV stands out with over 5,000 nits HDR peak brightness, making it one of the brightest TVs ever tested. This feature makes it highly suitable for bright room viewing and high-dynamic-range content.

Wide Color Gamut Coverage

The 116UX and 100UX TVs cover up to 95% of the BT.2020 color space, providing vibrant, lifelike colors and exceptional color volume. This performance surpasses even some leading OLEDs in color volume.

Superior Color Accuracy and Saturation

The 116UX TV has been tested for superior performance in color accuracy, saturation, motion handling, contrast, and picture uniformity. While the 100UX has not been individually tested in detail, its performance is expected to be close to the 116UX.

Availability and Pricing

The 116UX is currently available for purchase in the US for around $30,000. The 100UX is also available, priced at approximately $20,000. These TVs can be purchased from Hisense and authorized resellers, as well as select national retailers.

The Future of Display Technology

Hisense is also set to release the 136MX, a microLED display with a size of 136 inches diagonally. Described as an ultra-luxury MicroLED display, the 136MX features self-emissive pixels for perfect black levels, infinite contrast, and exceptional brightness. The cost of the 136MX is yet to be announced, but it is expected to be expensive.

With the 116UX and 100UX RGB Mini-LED TVs, Hisense is pushing the boundaries of display technology, offering a premium viewing experience for those seeking high-end home entertainment solutions.

With the release of the 136MX microLED display, Hisense's technology continues to shape the future of home entertainment, potentially paving the way for even smarter home-device integrations.
