DAF Unveils PACCAR MX-11 & MX-13 Engines at Busworld Europe
DAF Components is set to unveil its latest engine series, the PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13, at Busworld Europe in Brussels. The engines, developed by PACCAR, promise improved fuel efficiency and longer maintenance intervals. Visitors can find DAF Components at booth 619 in Hall 6.
The new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines are designed to run on HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) biodiesel, aligning with the industry's push towards sustainability. Additionally, DAF Components will showcase its mild-hybrid solution at the event. This technology combines a PACCAR MX engine with a mild-hybrid gearbox and an electric motor. Currently, it's in use in 110 city buses in Rome, demonstrating its real-world practicality.
The mild-hybrid solution aims to enhance fuel efficiency by up to 15% through the implementation of a Start-Stop system. This innovation allows the engine to shut off and restart seamlessly when the vehicle is stationary, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
DAF Components' presentation of the new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines and the mild-hybrid solution at Busworld Europe underscores the company's commitment to improving fuel efficiency and reducing environmental impact. These innovations are expected to significantly benefit fleet operators and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future for the transport industry.
