Digital Signage provider, Carousel, expands reach with cross-platform distribution for Carousel Daily content.

Carousel Digital Signage, a leading provider of digital signage solutions, has made a significant stride in broadening its reach by introducing the Carousel Daily app for Android devices and MacOS desktops and laptops. This extension now allows organizations to distribute messages and information beyond traditional signage screens, reaching a wider audience on personal devices.

The Carousel Daily app, a feature of Carousel Cloud, has been expanded to support Android smartphones, tablets, Smart TVs, and MacOS desktops and laptops. This development follows Carousel's initial iOS-exclusive support, marking a significant step forward for the company.

The Android version of the Carousel Daily app operates in the same manner as its iOS counterpart, but diligent research and development work were required on the backend to ensure compatibility with Carousel Cloud. The app has been thoroughly vetted for proven interoperability with the Android operating system before launch.

Carousel Digital Signage has also developed a native app for Android devices, which is now available in the Google Play Store. This move is a testament to the company's commitment to expanding its reach and providing versatile digital signage solutions.

For Android devices, Carousel offers a dedicated Carousel Cloud Player app, which supports Android 14 as its primary tested and certified OS. Other versions may also be compatible. The Android Player can be configured to display either an Express Player Feed or a Licensed Media Player feed depending on subscription and use case.

On MacOS, the Carousel Daily app can be installed via the Apple App Store or MDM solutions, enabling users on these platforms to access Carousel Daily feeds. The system requires a Carousel Site Admin to create zones and daily feeds on the Carousel Cloud platform, which can then be shared via URLs or QR codes to users, allowing them to subscribe and view content on their personal devices.

The extension to iOS and MacOS platforms was a simple next step for Carousel Digital Signage, given their prior familiarity with the Apple ecosystem. The company offers webinars, such as the Carousel Essentials webinar, focusing on connecting Android devices as media players or express players, helping users extend signage reach effectively to personal and portable devices.

With the new compatibility, Carousel Daily can support Apple, Android, and mixed ecosystems used internally, removing technical limits to external audience reach. Users can create, customize, and distribute feeds, with sharing options including links and QR codes, supporting varied communication needs.

In summary, Carousel Digital Signage's extension of Carousel Daily's ecosystem allows users to receive, view, and interact with digital signage feeds on their personal and work devices, leveraging app-based access and cloud feed management to expand digital signage from fixed screens to widely accessible personal devices and computers.
