Decrease in Demand for Nvidia RTX 50-series in Germany: Affordable Models, Including All But the RTX 5090, Sold at Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price or Lower

In the German market, Nvidia's RTX 5090 continues to be a sought-after graphics card despite a noticeable decline in demand for other RTX 50-series models. The RTX 5090, with its unparalleled gaming performance and cutting-edge design, remains the premium choice for enthusiasts willing to invest in top-tier hardware.

At the end of March, the cheapest RTX 5080 models were priced at €1,169, and they now retail for €1,119. The RTX 5070 cards followed a similar trend, with the cheapest models priced at €599 at the end of March and now available for €589. Interestingly, the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080's median prices have dropped significantly. The median pricing of the RTX 5070 Ti was €1,005 at the end of March and has dropped to €950 as of last week, while the median price of the RTX 5080 was €1,430 at the end of March and has dropped to €1,389 as of last week.

The RTX 5090, however, continues to hold its ground. Its unique features, such as 21,760 CUDA cores, 32GB of next-gen GDDR7 memory, and a high power budget (up to 578W), make it an appealing choice for those seeking the best performance. These specifications, along with its new technologies, make it a long-term investment, supported by prebuilt PC deals that bundle it with other powerful components.

In contrast, lower-tier RTX 50-series models face competition from AMD's RX 9000 series, which is outselling Nvidia’s other 50-series cards in Germany. This competition puts pressure on those models' prices and demand, resulting in a market cooldown and price drops below MSRP.

The situation regarding the pricing of RTX 50-series GPUs in Germany is better than in the U.S., with the average price of AIB-partner cards for the RTX 5080 being closer to MSRP compared to other RTX 50-series GPUs. However, some AIB partner models of RTX 50-series GPUs are still priced significantly higher than MSRP in Germany.

The RTX 5090, despite its high price tag, remains in high demand and is struggling to stay on store shelves. This continued demand underscores the appeal of the RTX 5090 for those seeking the best gaming performance and the most advanced hardware available.
