Digital triumph persists in Liechtenstein with eID.li 2.0, the latest chapter in their digital success saga
In a significant stride for Liechtenstein, the digital identity platform eID.li has been upgraded to version 2.0, positioning the country as a leader in digital ID solutions. This upgrade brings key improvements in security, user experience, and EU-wide compatibility.
The enhanced security measures of eID.li 2.0 incorporate advanced cryptographic protocols and multi-factor authentication, ensuring strong user identity verification and protection against fraud. The development of eID.li 2.0 has been overseen by Youniqx Identity, a subsidiary of the Austrian OeSD, which has been responsible for the platform since its introduction in 2020. The eID.li app is now available in both German and English for better accessibility. It offers digital credentials such as the mobile driver's license or the digital border crossing confirmation. During the COVID pandemic, eID.li integrated the international vaccination certificate into the official eID, simplifying its use.
