Direct appointment scheduling made simple within your Gmail inbox

In a bid to make scheduling more efficient and reduce the back-and-forth emails, Gmail has introduced a new integration with Google Calendar. This integration, now available for Rapid Release domains, allows users to create and share Google Calendar booking pages directly within the Gmail compose screen [1].

With this feature, users can propose available meeting times or share a booking page link without leaving their email draft. Recipients can then select and book times that work for them directly from the email, streamlining the process and eliminating the need to open multiple tabs or send multiple emails to coordinate meeting times [1].

To access the booking pages, users can click on the Calendar icon located at the bottom of the email draft. This icon displays a list of existing booking pages and an option to create a new one. Once a booking page is selected, it can be inserted as an interactive element within the email [1].

This integration is not limited to specific users. It is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts [1].

In addition to this, Gmail has recently introduced other features aimed at improving productivity. For instance, the platform now allows users to react to emails with emojis, and it has also introduced AI assistant Gemini, which can summarize long emails into quick reads [2].

However, it's important to note that some appointment scheduling features are only available with paid subscriptions, such as viewing different types of appointments, automatic email reminders, etc. [1]

For those in scheduled release domains, the rollout will start from July 28 [1]. So, get ready to say goodbye to the usual back-and-forth emails when scheduling meetings!
