New Multiplayer Features Enhance Social Gaming on Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 has introduced two exciting new features: GameChat and GameShare, enhancing the multiplayer and party experiences for gamers.

With GameChat, groups of up to 12 players can chat while playing different games, thanks to screen sharing and video chat options using compatible USB cameras (sold separately). This feature is particularly useful in games like Mario Kart™ World, where players can race and share highlights with friends, or in The Legend of Zelda™: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, where adventurers can share their journeys, discoveries, and creations.

Mario Kart™ World and The Legend of Zelda™: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition are not the only games that work well with GameChat. Overcooked! 2 supports fun group play, making communication during cooperative cooking chaos a breeze. Another exciting title is Split Fiction, a co-op adventure game that pairs exceptionally well with GameShare, allowing friends on different Switch consoles to join together seamlessly.

GameShare allows one person to play a game while others watch, or it can be used to share games with nearby Switch or Switch 2 consoles for collaborative play. This feature is essential for games like Super Mario Party™ Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, where players can share the Mega Wiggler's Tree Party board in Mario Party mode, or Fast Fusion, where players can race their anti-grav vehicles against up to three opponents and show off their custom-built or fused creations.

Other games compatible with GameShare include Donkey Kong™ Bananza, Big Brain Academy™: Brain vs. Brain, Super Mario™ 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Clubhouse Games™: 51 Worldwide Classics, Captain Toad™: Treasure Tracker, and Super Mario Odyssey™.

In addition to these features, the Nintendo Switch 2 also offers Split Fiction, a co-op game where working together is essential to overcome challenges in diverse sci-fi and fantasy worlds. However, some games may require additional titles, systems, or accessories for multiplayer mode.

During the GameChat open-access period, the feature can be used without a membership. After the period ends, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required. GameChat also supports screen sharing and video chat with up to 4 people simultaneously, making it easier than ever to communicate and collaborate with friends while gaming.

These new features on the Nintendo Switch 2 are set to revolutionise multiplayer gaming, encouraging social play both near and far. Whether you're racing in Mario Kart™ World, cooking up a storm in Overcooked! 2, or embarking on an adventure in The Legend of Zelda™: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, the Nintendo Switch 2 offers a more seamless and enjoyable multiplayer experience than ever before.
