Dubai Future Foundation Seals Collaboration with XSOLLA to Bolster the Gaming Industry
In the heart of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is making significant strides in the gaming sector. Under the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 (DPG33), the city is actively fostering investment and innovation to establish itself as a global gaming hub.
Launched with a vision to make Dubai a key player in the global gaming industry, DPG33 aims to position the city among the top 10 gaming hubs by 2033. The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the driving force behind this ambitious program, is working tirelessly to achieve this goal.
The DFF's efforts have not gone unnoticed. At the DFF-led Dubai Pavilion, Artisan Studios' game, Lost Hellden, garnered over 15,000 wishlist additions on Steam and 300,000 video views across IGN, PlayStation, and Nintendo of America. This success underscores Dubai's potential as a profitable investment opportunity in the gaming sector.
To further strengthen its role, the DFF has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with XSOLLA, a global video game monetization and scaling company. This collaboration will see the launch of joint initiatives and thought leadership programmes, aimed at accelerating strategic partnerships, attracting investment, and fostering innovation in the gaming sector.
The partnership is part of DPG33's broader strategy to generate 30,000 new jobs and contribute $1 billion to Dubai's GDP by 2033.
The gaming sector in Dubai is also seeing growth from within. Dubai-based iBLOXX recently secured $5 million to develop its online game, Strayshot. The city's strong infrastructure and competitive advantages are evident in the growing number of local gaming companies making their mark on the global stage.
Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO of DFF, has highlighted the real appetite for exploration and partnerships in the gaming industry in Dubai. He stated that Dubai's strong response in the gaming industry reflects its investment appeal and competitive advantages.
The gaming industry in Dubai, under DPG33, is seen as one of the industry's most promising markets. With its strategic partnerships, innovative initiatives, and commitment to growth, Dubai is indeed poised to become a global gaming hub.
This transformation was evident during DFF's participation at Gamescom 2025 in Germany, where the agreement was formalized. The gaming sector in Dubai, under DPG33, is expected to contribute significantly to Dubai's economy, making it an exciting market to watch in the coming years.
