Dubai Kicks Off WETEX 2025, Showcasing Global Sustainability Innovations
Dubai has kicked off the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), reaffirming its status as a global leader in sustainability. The three-day event, organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), hosts over 3,100 companies from 65 countries. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, inaugurated the event.
WETEX 2025, under the theme 'At the Forefront of Sustainability', supports the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative and Dubai's Clean Energy and Net Zero Carbon Emissions strategies. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum credited the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for Dubai's position as a strategic hub for international events fostering innovation and driving investment.
During his visit, Sheikh Ahmed toured the event, exploring cutting-edge solutions in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. He visited international pavilions from China, Russia, Germany, France, and South Korea, as well as leading regional and global companies. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Chairman of WETEX, highlighted the exhibition's role in facilitating public-private partnerships and international cooperation.
WETEX 2025, with its extensive international participation, demonstrates Dubai's commitment to sustainability and its role as a hub for global climate and investment collaboration. The event supports the UAE's and Dubai's strategic initiatives towards a net-zero future, showcasing innovative solutions and fostering international cooperation.
