Electric variant of the Porsche Cayenne to make its debut at the end of 2025, boasting over 1,000 horsepower - here's a sneak peek at its expected features.
The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Porsche AG announces the upcoming launch of the Porsche Cayenne Electric, set to debut on the global market in 2026. This fully electric luxury SUV will join the ranks of advanced technologies, boasting an 800-volt electrical system and wireless charging capabilities.
The Cayenne Electric's design is a muscular departure from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, showcasing a bold stance with larger, more defined edges at the rear-end, reminiscent of its smaller cousin. The front end, on the other hand, features slim LED headlamps similar to the Macan EV, with four horizontal daytime running lights acting as indicators.
The Cayenne Electric's cabin is a blend of the familiar Porsche feel and a tech-focused interior, heavily lined with displays. The cockpit houses a wide infotainment touchscreen, a curved digital cluster, a separate screen for the front-row passenger, and a dedicated HVAC touchscreen panel in the centre console. The taillight takes the form of a thin LED bar across the liftgate.
Base and mid-spec models of the Cayenne EV are anticipated to generate between 400-600 bhp, while the Turbo variants are expected to produce over 1,000 bhp. However, official power and range figures have yet to be disclosed. The expected single-charge range for the Cayenne EV is just short of 600 km.
Test mules of the Cayenne Electric, recently spied on the Nurburgring, feature more aero elements, wider arches, and a new front bumper design. The Cayenne Electric's rear bumper and diffuser give a mean-looking appearance, suggesting it could be the Cayenne Turbo Electric.
The Cayenne EV will be available in global markets alongside its pure-ICE and hybrid versions. At this time, there is no information available about the Cayenne EV being offered in India. The specifications and release are yet to be fully detailed, but one thing is certain: the Cayenne Electric aims to maintain its edge against other high-performance luxury electric SUVs.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Porsche Cayenne Electric as we approach its 2026 launch.
