Engage with CTCN at COP20: Collaborate with the Climate Technology Centre and Network during the 20th Conference of the Parties

In a series of significant events spanning between June and July 2025, the global community has demonstrated a collective commitment to addressing climate change through collaboration, innovation, technology, and sustainable practices. These gatherings, held across various continents, have aimed to accelerate global climate action and foster resilience in the face of environmental challenges.

One of the most anticipated events was the COP30 Climate Summit, held in Belém, Brazil, and online in November. This major summit brought together global stakeholders to address climate issues, with a particular focus on finance and innovation for climate solutions. The event featured hybrid side events on climate and sustainable finance hosted by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), emphasising the importance of finance and innovation in tackling climate change[1].

Another significant event was the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, which took place at the UN Headquarters in New York from July 14–23. This forum underscored sustainable development, with a particular focus on empowering young leaders by expanding their climate science knowledge and leadership skills to support climate action initiatives and community protection[1].

The South-South Partnerships for Climate Justice, held on June 27, was a network event promoting collaboration among developing countries to share expertise and accelerate sustainable development, renewable energy, and adaptation strategies. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration and technology transfer among Global South nations to strengthen climate resilience[2].

The Greening Humanitarian Assistance Webinar, held on June 26, focused on integrating climate action into humanitarian efforts. Donors shared priorities and guidance on implementing donor greening actions, showcasing progress and tools for climate-aligned humanitarian programming. This event underscored practical guidance for technology and operational innovation in humanitarian contexts[2].

The Governor's Island Climate Solutions Showcase, held in New York on June 12, highlighted innovative circular economy technologies and pilot projects by companies and entrepreneurs. Discussions and a panel on "Waterfronts of the Future" pointed to emerging technology and sustainable urban solutions in climate adaptation[4].

The Together4Transparency Program at June Climate Meetings, held in Bonn in July, included multiple events focused on practical steps to advance transparency and reporting for climate goals, reinforcing international cooperation, accountability, and technology use in tracking climate progress[5].

In addition to these events, ongoing webinars and workshops were held throughout 2025. For example, a biweekly webinar series on "Advancing early warning for all" runs through 2025, promoting knowledge-sharing on climate resilience technologies globally[2], and the July 25 workshop on health-centered climate action explores strategies linking climate innovation with health outcomes[3].

During these events, several exclusive discussions took place. At 14:00, an IETA Business Dialogue on the Climate Technology Centre & Network took place, which was by invitation only. Similarly, a CTCN Partnership event occurred between 18:30 and 20:30, also invitation-only. Another event, "Innovation and Collaboration for Transforming Knowledge into Climate Action," took place between 11:45 and 18:15, while a discussion on "Data, Knowledge and Innovation for Climate Action" took place between 13:15 and 14:45[6].

These gatherings collectively advance climate innovation, technology deployment, and multi-sector partnerships as vital tools for accelerating global climate action in 2025. By focusing on strengthening global and South-South collaboration, scaling innovative climate technologies (such as renewable energy and circular economy solutions), integrating climate action into humanitarian responses, empowering youth leadership, and advancing transparency mechanisms, these events aim to create a more sustainable future for all.
