Expanding partnerships in Bengaluru's feverish market sees JSA welcome two new collaborators
In the bustling tech hub of Bengaluru, India's Silicon Valley, law firms are expanding their presence to keep pace with the city's growing corporate landscape. However, while some firms like INDUSLAW are growing their teams, J. Sagar Associates (JSA) has not made any recent public announcements regarding new partner additions in Bengaluru.
Despite this, JSA continues to be active in significant investment deals, such as advising Bharat Value Fund (BVF) and other investors on transactions, demonstrating the firm's strong local presence in the city [2][5].
Notable Hires at JSA
In a separate development, JSA has made several strategic hires over the past month. Santosh Vijay, a former counsel at Krishnamurthy & Co (K Law), has joined the firm as a corporate partner. Vijay's expertise lies in private equity and venture capital deals, particularly in the startup space [3].
Vijay recently advised Bengaluru-based pharma company Strides Pharma Sciences on the $15 million sale of its Singapore manufacturing facility. He is accompanied by a disputes pro, Harshavardhan Abburi, who has also recently joined JSA [4].
Another significant addition to JSA is Brijita Prakash, who specializes in matters related to title, urban development, and regulatory compliance within the real estate sector. Prakash, who previously worked at DSK Legal, has represented top developers and builders in Karnataka, including Prestige Estates, Brigade Enterprises, and Godrej Properties [1]. She is accompanied by a team of seven fee-earners.
Competitors Expanding in Bengaluru
While JSA has not publicly announced any new partner additions in Bengaluru, other firms are actively expanding their presence in the city. AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co, and Economic Law Practice have all expanded their presence in Bengaluru [6].
Meanwhile, Stratage Law Partners and Wadia Ghandy & Co have recently launched Bengaluru outposts, adding to the competitive landscape in the city [7]. INDUSLAW, a competitor to JSA, has expanded its Bengaluru office by adding G. Madhusudhana as a Partner in its real estate practice [1].
In summary, while J. Sagar Associates has not announced any recent partner or team additions to its Bengaluru office, the firm remains active in major deals in the city, demonstrating its strong local presence [2][5]. Other firms are actively expanding in Bengaluru, making the city's legal landscape increasingly competitive. For updates on JSA's team growth in Bengaluru, further direct inquiry or updates from the firm's announcements would be necessary.
