Experienced a chilling adventure with Cronos: The New Dawn, undoubtedly redefining the horror genre

Step into a world ravaged by the catastrophic event known as The Change, where mankind faces an onslaught of monstrous Orphans in the upcoming game, Cronos: The New Dawn. Developed by Bloober Team, this survival horror title promises a chilling blend of retro-futuristic technology and horror elements.

In Cronos: The New Dawn, players take on the role of a heavily armored Traveler in a post-apocalyptic world. The Traveler's mission is to venture through time rifts to the 1980s-era Poland past, where they must locate key individuals who perished during The Change and extract their Essences using a device called the Harvester. These Essences could hold the key to reversing the disastrous events that led to the apocalypse.

The narrative follows the Traveler's transformation from a detached agent to a character deeply affected by their missions. As the suit becomes increasingly "haunted" by the collected Essences, the Traveler grapples with the weight of their actions and the fate of humanity.

The game's encounters are tense, particularly during the early hours, as players must survive against brutal enemies and tactically manage limited resources in a hostile, brutalist world. Fire and ammo are scarce resources, requiring strategic planning to manage effectively.

Exploring off the beaten path usually yields more vital resources, offering a needed advantage. However, navigating the world isn't always straightforward, as there's no minimap in the game. Instead, players rely on a compass to guide them.

The game's environments are filled with puzzles to solve, such as finding keys and fuses, to progress. Additionally, there are environmental puzzles (anomalies) scattered throughout the world that need to be solved to advance. A rift weapon can be used to fix these anomalies, but players may need to backtrack slightly to move forward.

One unique feature of Cronos: The New Dawn is the uncharged shots in the game, which fire faster but deal significantly less damage. On the other hand, charged shots take a noticeable amount of time to hit their maximum impact but offer more damaging blows.

The developers at Bloober Team have waited "years to make a game like this," and it shows in the intricate detail and suspenseful atmosphere of Cronos: The New Dawn. With multiple different endings based on the choices players make and decisions affecting how the story plays out, this game promises a thrilling and immersive experience.

Cronos: The New Dawn is set in the Tadeusz Sendzimir Steelworks in Nowa Huta, Krakow, Poland, and is described as the team's "love letter to survival horror." Prepare to embark on a haunting journey through time as you strive to save the past to save the future. The game is expected to last approximately 16 hours for the main campaign.
