A Fresh Spin:
Family Dollar announces the launch of an updated mobile application.
Family Dollar's taking a leap in the digital world, unveiling a revamped mobile app this October! Here's what you can expect:
- The revamped app boasts a sleeker interface and smoother navigation. With the redesigned digital wallet, managing those sweet coupons has never been easier. Plus, the new search engine helps you find what you need in a flash!
- Early 2024, get ready for even more perks as the app gets another makeover with personalization features, in-app e-commerce, and additional loyalty rewards.
This app update is all part of a broader digital overhaul aimed at enhancing the shopping experience for consumers, as revealed by Bobby Aflatooni, Dollar Tree's mastermind CIO.
"We're all about helping our customers scoop up more stuff at less cash," says Emily Turner, Chief Marketing Officer at Dollar Tree, "and this app's just another way to keep that promise."
The new user experience is expected to attract not only regular customers but brands eager to advertise their wares to Family Dollar's staggering customer base, thanks to the retailer's freshly-minted Chesapeake Media Group. This media powerhouse came to life back in 2021, following in the footsteps of many retailers who've set up networks to grab marketers' attention with data-driven ad dollars.
Beyond the app overhaul, Dollar Tree's strategy also includes expanding its brick-and-mortar footprint and beefing up in-store product offerings. For example, the company revealed that it opened 118 new locations and completed 276 Family Dollar renovation projects in its second-quarter earnings report, and added 16,000 cooler doors to its locations back in March.
The scene at Family Dollar and Dollar Tree has been shifting under a new boss. In January, Rick Dreiling took over as CEO, a role previously held by Mike Witynski. The company's recent earnings report showed that same-store sales increased 7.8% for Dollar Tree and 5.8% for Family Dollar, contributing to an overall sales surge of 8.2% to $7.32 billion.
Footnotes:
