Bojangles to Introduce EV Charging Stations at Most Restaurants
Fast-food chain Bojangles is set to revolutionize the quick-service dining experience by integrating electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at approximately 800 of its restaurants. The innovative move, which aims to improve accessibility for guests and position Bojangles as a leader in the future of dining, will see a minimum of four charging spots per location, featuring a mix of Level 2 (medium-speed) chargers and DC fast (Level 3) chargers.
The partnership between Bojangles, Alyath EV (operator), Smart Big Box, and Energy and Environmental Design Services (installer and maintenance partner) will ensure a seamless and eco-friendly convenience aligned with evolving customer needs. The chargers, described as top-of-the-line, are expected to provide reliable access to EV drivers, with an operational uptime of over 97%.
Richard Del Valle, Chief Information Officer at Bojangles, expressed the focus on offering a fast, friendly, and convenient experience for guests. "We want to create a seamless experience that keeps customers moving," he said. "Whether they're grabbing a quick meal or charging their vehicle, we aim to make it as easy and efficient as possible."
Cristiane Rosul, CEO of Alyath, shared similar sentiments, stating that this initiative benefits EV drivers and positions Bojangles as a leader in the future of quick-service dining. "This is a significant step forward for the quick-service industry," she said. "By offering EV charging stations, Bojangles is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and customer service."
The rollout is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with widespread availability in 2026, primarily across the Southeast where Bojangles has the largest presence. While the specific locations where the charging stations will be installed have not been specified, each Bojangles restaurant will have a minimum of four charging spots.
Bojangles is renowned for its craveable Southern food, including fried chicken and biscuits. By integrating high-speed charging with great food, the chain is creating a unique selling point that combines convenience and sustainability. As Rosul put it, "You can now 'charge your car while fueling your body' during visits to Bojangles."
