EWE Go and HOCHTIEF Unveil Fast-Charging Park in Schleswig-Holstein

In a significant move towards the expansion of Germany's fast-charging network, EWE Go and HOCHTIEF have opened a new charging park at the Famila market in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein. This is the first joint location of EWE Go and HOCHTIEF in Schleswig-Holstein and a crucial step in the partners' commitment to the Germany network.

Located at Fritz-Thiedemann-Ring 40, 25746 Heide, the charging park is strategically positioned between Hamburg and the North Sea coast, well-connected to the B5 and A23. The charging park is directly connected to the specialist market center and the adjacent Famila market, offering high visitor frequency and immediate proximity to shopping opportunities.

The charging park boasts 12 High-Power-Charging (HPC) charging stations and a total of 24 charging points, each providing a charging power of at least 400 kW. This makes it an essential component of the energy transition and a reliable choice for electric vehicle (EV) owners.

EWE Go, one of the largest operators of charging infrastructure in Germany, with approximately 3,000 charging points nationwide, and HOCHTIEF, a globally oriented infrastructure solutions provider, have joined forces to finance, build, and operate a total of 850 charging points in the North-West and West regions.

The partnership, which won two regional lots in the Deutschlandnetz tender in September 2023, includes areas such as North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Schleswig-Holstein. EWE Go will handle the technical implementation and operation, while HOCHTIEF, with approximately 57,000 employees and a turnover of €33.3 billion in 2024, will contribute planning and building expertise.

The Heide project marks a significant milestone in the further expansion of the Germany network. With EV charging times reduced to 15 to 30 minutes, the partners are setting a clear sign for reliable and everyday usable electric mobility in the region. Moreover, the charging park operates with 100 percent green electricity, further underscoring the partners' commitment to sustainability.
