Ford is making strides to provide a seamless charging experience for its electric vehicle customers. The automaker's BlueOval Charge Network extends its support to electric vehicle owners, offering ongoing guidance and assistance.

Ford is offering complimentary roadside assistance if a vehicle's range runs too low, and the Connected Navigation in Ford vehicles adds charging stops to the route based on the BlueOval Charge Network. This network automatically searches for chargers across various networks, including Electrify America and Tesla Superchargers.

In a bid to further simplify home charging setup, Ford is providing a complimentary home charger to buyers or lessees of retail Ford Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit vehicles. Eligible customers receive a Ford Charge Station at no cost, and a standard home installation is included, arranged professionally through Qmerit’s installer network.

The primary charger model supplied at vehicle delivery is the Ford Charge Station Pro. Some customers may receive the Ford Connected Charge Station or an Emporia Classic EV Charger via discount code by email if the charger is not provided directly at delivery.

In Quebec, where rules differ, customers can purchase a Ford Charge Station Pro with installation for approximately $2,450 CAD plus taxes (retail value about $3,600 CAD). However, the charger and standard installation are complimentary to qualifying new buyers/lessees from participating dealers.

Installation is provided by Qmerit’s professional network of certified installers as part of the program, included with the charger at no extra charge for eligible customers. The home charger installation process removes the guesswork and costs associated with home charging, aiming to save customers time and money.

With Plug and Charge, drivers plug in when they get to a charging station, and the payment is automatically made via their FordPass account. This feature, along with the BlueOval Charge Network's aim to make charging electric vehicles easier for drivers on the road, demonstrates Ford's dedication to providing a seamless charging experience for its electric vehicle customers.

Ford is also expanding its 24/7 Ford advisor for electric vehicle support, ensuring that customers can talk or text with real people. The automaker is focusing on convenience, peace of mind, and expert service to attract potential electric vehicle buyers, rather than relying on jumbo rebates.

A recent survey revealed that nearly 90% of shoppers say they would be more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they knew they could charge at home. Filling up at home with electricity can be a significant cost savings for many electric vehicle owners compared to filling up with gas. As Ford continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings and charging infrastructure, the company is poised to make electric vehicles more accessible and attractive to a wider audience.
