Fujifilm's supposed price hike triggers a surge of last-minute orders from a US retailer, as they eagerly await confirmation from Fujifilm about the increase.

Fujifilm's potential price increase allegedly stirred up a flurry of last-minute orders from a US retailer, yet they still lack solid confirmation from the company itself.

In a recent development, Fujifilm has announced that it will be increasing the prices of most of its camera models, lenses, batteries, and accessories in the United States, effective August 1, 2025. This news, confirmed by Capture Integration and reported by multiple sources, comes as a response to the new 15% import tariffs into the US, which have risen from the previous 10%.

Hillary K. Grigonis, who leads the US coverage for Digital Camera World and has over a decade of experience writing about cameras and technology, has reported on this development. Grigonis, a licensed drone pilot and a current Fujifilm user, notes that the price hikes are generally around 8-10%, with some models like the Fujifilm X100VI seeing a 12.5% increase from $1,599.95 to $1,799.95.

This price adjustment affects all Fujifilm GFX and X series products shipped on or after August 1, regardless of when the order was placed. Fujifilm may cancel pending backorders and require customers to reorder at the new prices.

Several US retailers, including a specialty camera shop, have temporarily listed popular Fujifilm cameras like the X-M5, GFX100RF, and X100VI as unavailable due to uncertainty over the potential price increase. However, as of late July 2025, the Fujifilm US webstore currently only lists the X Half and the X-H2 as in stock, along with pre-orders for the X-E5.

It is important to note that Fujifilm US has declined to comment on the potential price increase. However, a number of camera brands have already increased list prices in the US following the reciprocal tariffs. The list of countries with increased import costs to the US includes longtime trade allies like Canada and Mexico.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on longtime trade allies beginning August 01. This move, if implemented, could potentially impact the pricing and availability of various products, including cameras, across different brands.

Grigonis's wedding and portrait photography favors a journalistic style, reflecting her dedication to factual reporting. As the situation develops, it is advisable for potential customers to stay informed and prepare for potential changes in pricing and availability.
