General Motors supplies 10 vehicles for Secret Service agent training sessions

In a recent announcement, the Secret Service unveiled a fresh batch of 10 vehicles they've snagged from none other than General Motors (GM). These rides will be put through their paces at the James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC), located roughly 20 miles outside of Washington, D.C.

Special Agent in Charge Scott Simons, from the RTC, revealed in a press release that this collaboration with GM will empower the agency to innovate and boost their training programs. He said, "exposure to new cars will challenge instructors and give them an opportunity to develop more realistic training scenarios."

Here's the lowdown on the 10 vehicles delivered:

  • Two Cadillac CT4 sedans (one with a manual transmission)
  • Two Cadillac CT5 sedans (one with a manual transmission)
  • Two Chevrolet Corvettes (high-performance models)
  • A Cadillac Escalade SUV
  • A Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck
  • A Chevrolet Tahoe "with a police package"
  • A Chevrolet Suburban SUV

The delivery of these vehicles is the result of an agreement between the Secret Service and GM. According to Steve duMont, the Defense President of GM, the automaker is dedicated to supporting the nation's security forces with the most modern equipment to improve their training and mission execution.
