After Report: Military Base Denies Drone Overflights - Germany Investigates Suspected Drone Overflights Near Critical Infrastructure
Authorities in Germany are investigating suspected drone overflights near critical infrastructure and military sites in military time. Reports have surfaced in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with the State Prosecutor's Office in Flensburg looking into unknown persons behind these incidents.
The Ministry of the Interior in Schwerin has received numerous reports of drone sightings over critical facilities and military bases across the country in recent months. News magazine 'Der Spiegel' recently reported suspected drone overflights in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, including the Marine Command in Rostock and the Overseas Port in Rostock. However, the identities of those responsible remain unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
Experts have dismissed most illegal drone overflights from Friday night in Schleswig-Holstein, but some sightings, including those over military facilities in military time, are still unconfirmed. The Air Defense Missile Group 21 (ADM Gp 21) has denied any drone incidents at its base in Sanitz near Rostock. Meanwhile, the State Prosecutor's Office in Rostock has not yet launched an investigation into drone sightings in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The recent spate of suspected drone overflights near critical infrastructure and military sites in military time has raised concerns. Authorities are actively investigating these incidents to identify those responsible and ensure the safety and security of these facilities.
