Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Authority Joins Forces with MISUMI

In a strategic move to enhance its digital and on-demand custom parts procurement capabilities, MISUMI Group Inc. has agreed to acquire Fictiv, a global supply chain technology company, for a total consideration of $350 million.

Fictiv, known for its AI-driven technology workflows, world-class global manufacturing network, and teams of local manufacturing experts, has delivered over 35 million commercial and prototype parts for various industries. The company's mission is to help companies innovate faster, free up resources, and drive profitable growth.

The acquisition is set to synergize Fictiv’s AI-driven, highly automated platform for custom mechanical parts with MISUMI’s extensive catalog of configurable components and global manufacturing and logistics network.

Expansion of Digital Infrastructure and Innovation

MISUMI aims to leverage Fictiv’s advanced digital supply chain platform, which orchestrates every stage from design guidance, quoting, material sourcing, to quality assurance and fulfillment. This integrated digital approach will enhance speed, flexibility, and transparency in procurement and manufacturing processes.

Broader Market and Customer Base Access

Fictiv’s strong foothold in the U.S. and expertise in product development open new customer domains for MISUMI, particularly expanding its online processing business and entering product development markets. This will extend MISUMI’s overall business scope and presence in a key geographic region.

Seamless Single-Source Solution

Combining Fictiv’s digital platform with MISUMI’s global footprint—including 22 manufacturing sites, 20 logistics centers, and 66 sales offices—creates a unified global solution. This integration will reduce complexity and accelerate product development timelines for customers by providing both custom and standard mechanical parts in a seamless experience.

Supply Chain Resilience and Agility

Utilizing joint manufacturing hubs across India, Mexico, China, and the U.S., the combined operations will improve supply chain logistics, reduce risk, and enhance resilience, enabling customers to scale globally without typical barriers such as cost and complexity.

Industry 4.0 and AI-Driven Automation

Fictiv applies Industry 4.0 principles with AI-driven quoting, design for manufacturing automation, and expert human guidance to simplify sourcing and manufacturing of parts, including complicated processes like injection molding. This will empower customers across various highly regulated sectors to innovate faster and reduce time to market.

Enhanced Quality and Program Management

Customers will benefit from rigorous quality control, full documentation, and dedicated program managers guiding the projects from quoting to delivery, ensuring reliable, traceable outcomes and smooth project execution.

In a joint vision, Dave Evans, Co-Founder & CEO of Fictiv, and Ryusei Ono, Representative Director and President of MISUMI Group Inc., aim to make manufacturing and supply chain capabilities more accessible and intelligent. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals.
