A computer science phenom from the University of Wrocław, Piotr Wegrzyn, has stunned the global science community with his third-place conquest at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Los Angeles. Representing Poland, Wegrzyn's feat follows his victory in the national Explory contest. Wegrzyn competed in the Embedded Systems category, sponsored by tech juggernaut HP. His journey took root during his high school years at XIV Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Polonii Belgijskiej in Wrocław, where he spent four years laboring on the project. Building upon his research at the University of Wrocław, he significantly boosted his processor's speed, making it a whopping 47 times faster than its initial prototype.
