Greifswald Residents Invited to Discuss Future Heat Supply
Greifswald residents are invited to an upcoming public forum on September 15, 2025. The event aims to discuss the city's current heat supply and explore future options, including areas not connected to district heating networks. Theta Concepts GmbH from Rostock will present key findings from the heat planning process.
Initial assessments indicate potential for renewable heat sources like heat pumps and solar energy. For regions without network access, technologies such as solar power (photovoltaics) and potentially hydrogen technology are being considered to enable independent, sustainable heat and energy supply.
About 70% of Greifswald's apartments currently rely on district heating. The upcoming forum offers an opportunity to engage with these plans and express opinions on costs, technology, and supply security. No registration is required to participate in the live poll.
