Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise as a senior WordPress engineer, with strong skills in WordPress architecture, including custom themes and plugin development. Proficiency with modern PHP, WordPress APIs, and frontend technologies such as SCSS, Tailwind, JavaScript, and ACF Blocks is essential. Candidates should also have experience in guiding engineering best practices and resolving complex technical issues, as well as leadership experience, capable of mentoring and leading a team of WordPress developers.
Responsibilities
As the technical authority on all WordPress projects within Breadstack, the Tech Lead will architect and drive the evolution of the WordPress ecosystem. They will lead and mentor a team of WordPress developers, ensuring coding standards and best practices. The Tech Lead will act as the “developer of last resort” to solve challenging technical problems, collaborate cross-functionally to integrate and build high-performance, scalable WordPress solutions, and ensure accessibility, mobile-first principles, and optimal frontend and backend performance in WordPress Themes and Plugins.
