Huawei and Chery Auto Corporation agree to advance their collaborative Luxeed brand into the next phase.
Huawei-Backed Luxeed to Launch First MPV Model in Early 2026
Huawei's automotive arm, HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), is set to introduce a new MPV model under the Luxeed brand in early 2026. The vehicle, codenamed EHV, is built on the E0X-L platform and is expected to be priced around the $50,000 mark.
The upcoming EHV MPV will mark Luxeed's first foray into the MPV segment under the HIMA umbrella, which was formed through the joint venture between Huawei and Chery. The engineering resources from Chery's cancelled Exeed Exlantix E08 MPV project have been diverted to the EHV's development, consolidating efforts and eliminating internal competition.
Luxeed plans to unveil the EHV MPV alongside other new models in 2026, following the launches of updated Luxeed S7 and R7 models in 2025. These updated models, already in pre-sale since August 2025, signify a renewed focus on brand development and technology integration that will feed into the MPV launch next year.
The EHV MPV will leverage Huawei's advanced technologies, including batteries from CATL and sophisticated autonomous driving capabilities, consistent with Luxeed's positioning within HIMA. The HIMA business unit includes five brands: Luxeed, Stelato under BAIC Group, Aito under Seres Group, Shangjie under SAIC Motor, and Maextro under Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group.
The new company operates independently for production, sales, and services, aiming to enhance the service experience. Luxeed, which launched its first model, the S7 pure electric sedan, on November 28, 2023, will invest over RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion) for technological advancement and expand its R&D team to 5,000 people.
The cooperation agreement between Huawei and Chery to bring their jointly created car brand Luxeed to "Phase 2.0" was signed in Shenzhen, where Huawei is headquartered. The value of RMB 1 equals approximately USD $0.14 (as of the date of the report).
- The EHV MPV, expected to launch in early 2026 under Luxeed's brand, will be priced around $50,000, placing it in the automotive industry's competitive EV segment.

- As part of the HIMA alliance, other brands like Stelato, Aito, Shangjie, and Maextro will contribute to the mobility sector's growth and advancements in the global automotive industry.
