Huawei Unveils Powerful MatePad Mini to Challenge iPad Mini and Budget Rivals
Huawei has unveiled its first flagship mini tablet, the MatePad Mini, in Shenzhen. This compact powerhouse combines a sleek design with advanced features, positioning itself against rivals like Apple's iPad mini and budget-friendly Xiaomi tablets.
The MatePad Mini boasts an 8.8-inch flexible OLED display with 2.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 1,800 nits. It's certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light emission, ensuring eye comfort. Under the hood, HarmonyOS 5.1 powers the device, offering a smooth user experience. The tablet's 32 MP front-facing camera supports RAW-quality portrait imaging, ideal for video conferencing and live streaming.
Standout features include SIM card support for calls, a first in the tablet market, and Wi-Fi 7 for lightning-fast connectivity. The MatePad Mini also offers two-way Beidou satellite messaging. With a 6,400mAh battery and 66 W super fast charging, it charges to 60% in just 30 minutes. The device is compatible with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro stylus, offering ultra-low latency writing at 2ms.
The MatePad Mini is available in four vibrant colors - black, white, green, and red - with prices ranging from RMB 3,299 ($460) to RMB 6,499 ($910). Its unique combination of compact design, advanced features, and competitive pricing makes it a strong contender in the small-size tablet market.
