Tesla Increases Model Y Lease Prices and Extends Delivery Estimates

Tesla has made some significant changes to its lease pricing and delivery estimates for the Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) in the United States.

The RWD lease price has seen an increase from $349 to $399 per month, a jump of $50. The AWD lease, on the other hand, now costs approximately $499 per month, indicating a similar upward adjustment. These changes were implemented in August 2025.

The terms for these leases remain consistent, with a 36-month term, a $3,000 down payment, and a limit of 10,000 miles per year. These adjustments can be attributed to the strong demand for Tesla vehicles and the waning incentives as the federal tax credit for Tesla vehicles is set to expire on September 30, 2025.

In addition to the price increases, Tesla has also extended the delivery estimates for custom orders. Customers may now expect a delay of one to two weeks for their vehicles.

As for discounts, Raj Jegannathan, AI and IT Infrastructure Engineer at Tesla, has confirmed that there won't be any additional end-of-quarter discounts beyond what Tesla is already offering in the U.S.

To avoid the Q3 delivery crunch, prospective buyers are advised to order their Tesla vehicles as soon as possible. Tesla's online configurator will be updated to reflect the extended delivery estimates.

Lastly, it's worth noting that Tesla allows customers to buy out any lease, including for the Cybertruck, at the end of their term.

The adjustments in Tesla's Model Y lease prices might affect the automotive industry's finance sector, as more customers may seek alternative funding options for the now more expensive electric vehicles. The extended delivery estimates for custom orders could impact the transportation industry, as customers might need to wait longer to receive their Tesla vehicles, potentially altering their travel plans and arrangements.
