After consolidating its presence across multiple continents, organizing the first-ever fully digital event, and now setting its sights on bridging the divide between reality and the virtual, our association continues its mission to eliminate barriers in our increasingly interconnected world.

Today, we fuel and energize the community through international events, research, and informational resources. In order to serve this burgeoning group year-round, we have devised three intertwined projects.
"Our focus is to link and stimulate the VR/AR community," explains Harriet Bartlett, our Community Relations Manager. "In keeping with our vision, we aim to cater to and engage this community throughout the year through three strategically aligned projects: the membership, fostering connections, building, and reinforcing human connections within the community; the European VR Tour, meeting European industry leaders, and promoting progressive projects; and the platforms, forging a connection between the real world and the virtual."

While there may not be a single, universally known "virtual gathering place" for the VR/AR community, vibrant online communities and virtual events are prevalent throughout the space. A prominent example is the Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories (FIVARS), founded in 2015 by Keram Malicki-Sanchez and Joseph. FIVARS hosts workshops, panel discussions, VR and AR films, games, exhibitions, and has served as a launchpad for numerous world premieres of innovative projects. Although it's a real-world event, FIVARS showcases groundbreaking work, fosters collaboration, and accelerates the progression of the VR/AR field.
