Investment of 15 million euros for contemporary municipal infrastructure

The Ministry of Food, Rural Areas, and Consumer Protection has announced a new funding call worth 15 million euros, aimed at expanding and modernizing communal innovation infrastructure across Baden-Württemberg. This funding is part of the Ministry's Strengthening Regional Innovation Systems and aligns with the Innovation Strategy of the State.

Under this call, cities and municipalities in Baden-Württemberg can apply for investments in intelligent technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Smart Building solutions, as well as modern technical equipment. The focus is on the expansion of spatial and technical possibilities, including experimental application environments.

The European Union is providing approximately 279 million euros to Baden-Württemberg for the Funding Period 2021 to 2027, under the EFRE program. This program supports priorities in future technologies and competencies, as well as resource and climate protection.

The aim of these investments is to support future-oriented work and research environments, with a particular focus on collaboration, networking, and knowledge transfer among companies. This is achieved through the development of local innovation, founder, and technology centers, as well as transfer centers.

The EFRE program in Baden-Württemberg also aligns with the Innovation Strategy Baden-Württemberg. Applications for funding can be submitted from now until December 19, 2025. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism published this funding call on September 15, 2025.

For more information and to submit an application, visit the official website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism. The contact details for the Press Office and Citizens' Representative are also available online.

This funding call is part of a program of the European Fund for Regional Development in Baden-Württemberg, and aims to modernize and expand existing local infrastructures such as innovation, start-up, and technology centers, as well as transfer centers. The funding call also focuses on the acquisition of future-oriented, local infrastructure components and the optimization and improvement of already existing infrastructures.

With this funding, Baden-Württemberg aims to strengthen its position as a hub for innovation and technology, fostering a dynamic and innovative ecosystem that supports the growth and development of local businesses and start-ups.
