Japan's Loverse App Offers AI-Powered Dating to Men Over 40
Japan's unique dating app, Loverse, is gaining traction. It matches users not with real people, but with AI-powered bots. The app's CEO, Goki Kusunoki, hopes it offers a chance to experience love to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
Loverse, launched in Japan, caters primarily to men over 40, many of whom are already married. It provides virtual partners generated by AI, simulating real human dating behaviour. The app's bots have profiles with interests and ages, engaging users in human-like conversations.
The dating scene's challenges have led some to opt out. Loverse offers an alternative, with a monthly subscription of around 2,500 yen (£12/$17). A survey revealed that the majority of users are indeed men over 40, with many being married.
Loverse, with its AI-powered bots, is filling a unique niche in Japan's dating landscape. It provides a virtual dating experience for those who may not have the opportunity to engage in real-life relationships, offering a sense of companionship and love.
