Junge's First Drive-In Bakery-Café in Moenchhagen a Hit Since April 2025
The northern German bakery chain Junge has opened its first panera-café with a drive-in counter in Moenchhagen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Located on the heavily trafficked federal road B105, it has been a hit since its opening in April 2025, drawing in locals, commuters, vacationers, and business owners alike.
The bakery, which employs 25 staff members, serves a diverse range of customers. Its popularity can be attributed to its convenient location, which is not only on a busy road but also near attractive excursion destinations like Karl's Erlebnis-Dorf and the Erlebnis-Brennerei Maennnerhobby. Despite the staff's engagement, the bakery is still seeking reinforcements due to the industry's urgent need for skilled workers.
The bakery-café offers seating for 80 guests indoors and an equally spacious outdoor terrace, along with a play area for children. It provides 50 parking spaces and operates modern electric charging stations, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. The bakery also uses a photovoltaic system for energy. Customers can enjoy breakfast offers like pan dishes and classic pastries, which are particularly popular on weekends.
The bakery chain currently operates four drive-in bakeries, including the one in Moenchhagen. It plans to open further branches in Wedel and Itzehoe. The modern design, functional architecture, and sustainable wooden frame construction of the Moenchhagen bakery have attracted numerous customers.
The new bakery in Moenchhagen has proven to be a successful addition to the Junge chain, drawing in customers with its convenient location, diverse offerings, and commitment to sustainability. Despite the high demand, the bakery continues to look for reinforcements to keep up with the industry's urgent need for skilled workers.
