AI Central Asia's MagnetThe Alem.ai center, one of Kazakhstan's major AI ventures, is set to become an educational and startup hub, fueling the nation's AI exports to a staggering $5 billion by 2029. Zhaslan Madiyev, the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, shared his optimistic vision: "Alem.ai will spur the growth of Kazakhstan's AI solution exports and initiate a tech and economic boom, making Astana a prominent intellectual center of Central Asia."
Custom-Made EducationIn line with its ambitious goals, the government is gearing up for a mammoth training program aimed at educating one million people in AI skills. Come 2025, 60,000 individuals, predominantly from Central Asia, will be trained, alongside the certification of government employees in AI under the AI Kyzmet program. Moreover, the AI Corporate initiative will focus on upskilling private sector employees.
🤝🎓 Aligned ForcesAt the Digital Almaty 2025 Forum, the ministry's AI committee partnered with leading Kazakh universities, such as Satbayev University, KBTU, and Astana IT University, to integrate advanced robotics and AI technologies into their education. A significant milestone is the launch of the Agibot R&D Center, operating within the realm of Alem.ai.
Kazakh-Speaking AINazarbayev University and the National Information Technologies proudly introduced Kazakhstan's first Kazakh language AI model, KazLLM, forming the foundation for the TurkLLM project, geared towards improving language processing technologies in Turkic-speaking nations.
🌱 From Agriculture to Transportation, the digital world, and beyond, Kazakhstan is jumping headfirst into the AI revolution. Agitech Hub, a startup, develops solutions for crop monitoring and yield forecasting using satellite data and AI. Meanwhile, Egistic (field in Kazakh) offers a digital platform for household management via mobile apps, and Parqour streamlines parking operations while enhancing customer service. Lastly, Cerebra AI provides swift stroke diagnosis solutions, taking just a mere ten minutes.
Setting Legal GroundworkThe government is currently drafting an AI law to establish a secure environment for AI applications, define copyrights, and combat deepfake content. The proposed bill has been aligned with 13 state bodies and submitted to the lower house of Parliament for consideration.
