Kazakhstan Unveils Ambitious AI-Driven Digital Transformation Agenda
Kazakhstan is set to undergo a significant digital transformation, as President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev unveils an ambitious agenda. The plan, titled 'Kazakhstan in the Age of Artificial Intelligence', aims to modernize the state, economy, and society. Zhaslan Madiyev has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development to oversee these changes.
The agenda includes the creation of a state fund for digital assets and a strategic crypto reserve fund. These initiatives aim to promote innovation and secure the national financial architecture. To establish a legal framework for the digital world, a 'digital code' will be introduced, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, platform economy, and big data.
A new Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development will be established, led by Madiyev. This ministry will coordinate nationwide digital efforts. To drive progress, a national center for artificial intelligence will be created to develop specific applications and provide solutions for societal challenges.
Kazakhstan also plans to position itself as a future-oriented financial hub. Large investment programs in the high-tech sector and new laws to strengthen FinTech and liberalize trading in digital assets are part of this strategy. Additionally, the country aims to become a fully digital state within three years.
The repatriation of illegally acquired assets totaling 850 billion Tenge has been invested in infrastructure projects such as schools, sports facilities, medical institutions, and water infrastructure. Furthermore, plans to construct more nuclear power plants and use modern coal technologies ensure a stable energy supply. With these initiatives, Kazakhstan is poised to embrace the digital age and secure its place as a future-oriented nation.
