KazMunayGas, Uzbekneftegaz Explore Long-Term Cooperation in Sustainable Gas Sector

Representatives from KazMunayGas and Uzbekneftegaz recently met to explore long-term cooperation in sustainable development and technological advancement. The meeting, which focused on digitalization and industrial safety, saw the establishment of a joint working group to review potential projects in promising geological areas.

The two companies discussed prospects for cooperation in geological exploration, with a particular focus on Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. They also reviewed the production of linear alkylbenzene (LAB) for petrochemical processing and petrochemistry. Uzbekneftegaz specialists visited the KazMunayGas Processing Industries (KPI) facility in Atyrau to learn about digital solutions and surveyed the Atyrau Oil Refinery. In a bid to facilitate this cooperation, Kazakhstan set up a DataRoom for Uzbekneftegaz to study geological and technical data.

The meeting resulted in the signing of a quadrilateral memorandum on digitalization and industrial safety. Both companies aim to exchange expertise in IT and artificial intelligence, further strengthening their partnership in the sustainable development of the gas sector.
