Large-scale online drug shop "Chemical Revolution" to shut down, announced by BKA, accompanied by the arrest of alleged perpetrators, scheduled for 11 am today.

The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and the Central Office for Combating Cybercrime (ZIT) of the Public Prosecutor's Office Frankfurt am Main have announced a significant victory in their fight against online drug trafficking. The largest drug online store in Germany, "Chemical Revolution," was taken down between February 13, 2019, and May 28, 2019.

The operation, which led to the arrest of 11 suspected masterminds, targeted a platform that offered narcotics, including synthetic drugs like ecstasy, MDMA, amphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and cannabis for sale and worldwide delivery. Customers paid for the narcotics using the cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

The 26-year-old main suspect, from Munich, is accused of establishing the drug online store in September 2017 and subsequently operating it. Large quantities of narcotics were seized from the suspect, including approximately 50 kilograms of amphetamine, 16 kilograms of cannabis, 2 kilograms of MDMA, 900 grams of cocaine, 600 grams of heroin, and a large number of ecstasy tablets and so-called LSD trips.

The ZIT, which is also the national German point of contact in the Judicial Cybercrime Network, a European network for combating cybercrime, handled the investigation. The event will take place at Thaerstraße 11, 65193 Wiesbaden, on June 28, 2019, from 11:00 to 13:00. Senior Public Prosecutor Georg Ungefuk and Dr. Sabine Vogt will be available for questions.

Admission is from 10:30. Registration for U-Haul vehicles is required at [email protected] or by calling 0611 55 13083. Photographs and film footage of seized drugs, such as cannabis, amphetamines, and synthetic drugs, will be possible.

The press office contact details for the BKA and the ZIT are available, including a phone number and website for the BKA, and a phone number and email address for the ZIT.

It is important to note that the name of the spokesperson for the Central Office for Combating Cybercrime at the Public Prosecutor General's Office in Frankfurt am Main, who will be present at the press conference on June 28, 2019, is not publicly available.

Officers from the Federal Criminal Police Office and the French criminal police secured the server of the drug online store during the operation. The ZIT is responsible for complex and extensive investigations in areas such as child pornography, darknet crime, and cybercrime in the narrower sense.

The press is invited to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Wiesbaden on June 28, 2019, for a press statement regarding the "Chemical Revolution" case. For more information, please contact the BKA press office or the ZIT.
