Expanding the Nintendo Switch Online Library: Newly Added SNES Games and More
Nintendo Switch Online members now have even more reasons to subscribe, as the service continues to grow its library of classic games. In July 2025, the most recent addition to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) collection is the creative and engaging title, Mario Paint.
This classic SNES game allows players to immerse themselves in drawing and music composition gameplay. The Switch Online version of Mario Paint offers modern conveniences like button remapping and improved visual filters, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Beyond Mario Paint, the SNES library on Nintendo Switch Online boasts an impressive selection of over 60 games, including iconic titles such as Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, Star Fox, and Super Metroid.
The service has also improved the SNES app interface, offering smoother CRT-like visual effects and gameplay improvements.
Another exciting addition to the library is Big Run, a racing game released for the Super Famicom system in 1991. The goal in Big Run is to traverse the vast landscape of Africa, from Tripoli to Dakar, over the course of nine stages.
For those who enjoy sports games, Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen'in Shugo!, a Super Famicom console release from 1993, offers a unique take on the classic sport. Featuring Kunio-kun and his mold-breaking dodgeball moves, players can square off against teams from various countries to become the greatest dodgeball team in the world.
The library also includes the action-puzzle game, Cosmo Gang, released for the Super Famicom system in Japan in 1993. Progress in each mode is made by removing containers and Cosmos that fall down from the top of the screen.
In addition, a 1993 beat-em-up, Battletoads Double Dragon, has been added to the library. Players join Billy and Jimmy Lee, along with Zitz, Rash, and Pimple, to fight against the Dark Queen and the Shadow Boss. Each stage in Battletoads Double Dragon contains hidden gimmicks, ensuring that matches can take unexpected turns.
The classic games available on Nintendo Switch Online also include Kirby's Dream Land, Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Mario Bros. 3. With such a diverse and high-quality selection, there's something for every Nintendo fan to enjoy.
