Leapmotor Expands Global Reach with B10 Launch in September

Leapmotor, the Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer, is set to take a significant step in its global expansion with the launch of its B10 compact all-electric SUV in overseas markets in September 2025.

The announcement was made during an event on August 8, 2025, where Leapmotor also revealed plans to ship the first batch of 2,500 vehicles to Europe, marking a major milestone in its global expansion.

The B10, the first global model in Leapmotor's B series, is built based on global standards and boasts advanced driver-assistance and smart cockpit features. It was officially launched in China on April 10, 2025, and is already available in China with a starting price of RMB 99,800 yuan ($13,890).

Leapmotor International, a joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor headquartered in Amsterdam, is leading the overseas expansion. The venture includes markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.

To facilitate this expansion, Leapmotor has established a logistics partnership with the Grimaldi Group. The partnership includes using a dedicated vessel named GRANDE TIANJIN to deliver these cars to Europe starting September 2025. The car carrier Grande Tianjin, delivered by Grimaldi Group to Leapmotor, was built specifically for car transportation.

Leapmotor is not the first Chinese automaker to have its own dedicated car carrier, although it is leased from another shipowner. The company has been Leapmotor's logistics partner since 2022.

In addition to the B10, Leapmotor International has more than 1,500 sales and service outlets worldwide, offering the T03 compact EV and the C10 mid-size SUV in overseas markets.

Leapmotor's expansion is backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA), which invested 1.5 billion euros ($1.7 billion) to acquire about 20 percent equity in Leapmotor. SAIC Motor, China's largest car manufacturer, operates the country's largest car carrier fleet, with its Anji Logistics division operating a fleet of 37 vessels.

As of now, Leapmotor's cumulative deliveries exceed 800,000 units, and the company began supplying battery packs to some commercial NEV makers. BYD, another Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer, has assembled its own car carrier fleet over the past two years, currently comprising seven vessels.

This expansion marks an exciting time for Leapmotor as it continues to make strides in the global electric vehicle market. With its advanced technology, competitive pricing, and global reach, Leapmotor is poised to become a major player in the industry.
