Leapmotor's B01 Electric Sedan Breaks Sales Records

Leapmotor, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has made a significant leap forward with the launch of its new B01 model. The B01, priced at around half that of a Tesla Model 3, was unveiled on July 24, 2023, and has already made a splash in the market.

Within just seven days of its launch, the B01 reached a milestone, as the 10,000th B01 rolled off the production line. This swift pace is a testament to the strong demand for the affordable EV.

The B01 is part of Leapmotor's B series, which targets a market segment with lower prices and higher sales volumes compared to the C series. The company currently offers seven models in China: T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11, and C16. Among these, the T03, B01, and B10 are exclusively available as battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, while the other models can also be purchased as extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).

Leapmotor's growth trajectory has been impressive. In July 2023, the company set a new record for the third consecutive month. The monthly volume of vehicle deliveries increased by 149.84 percent year-on-year from July 2022, and the company delivered 50,129 vehicles in July 2023. This is the first time Leapmotor has exceeded 50,000 units in a single month.

Year-to-date, Leapmotor has delivered 271,793 vehicles in 2023, up 103.76 percent from 2022. The company's overseas sales have also seen exponential growth, with strong numbers in multiple markets reflecting an over 5000% increase internationally in the first half of 2025 compared to almost zero in H1 2024.

Leapmotor's success is supported by multiple models such as the C10 EV, C16 EREV, C16 EV, and T03. The B01 is expected to drive significant new demand both domestically and abroad.

The company has set a sales target of 500,000 units for the entire year of 2025. Some analysts project that this could approach or even exceed 600,000 units domestically if the B01 performs strongly, plus an additional 60,000 units overseas.

Leapmotor's growth is backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA). Since its establishment, the company has accumulated total deliveries of 871,341 vehicles as of the end of July 2023, marking its 27th consecutive month of year-over-year growth starting from April 2023.

As Leapmotor continues to expand its reach and product offerings, it is poised to make a significant impact in the global EV market.
